Kadayawan committee taps social media influencers

THE Kadayawan Festival committee partnered with “Kadayawan warriors” or media bloggers to promote the ongoing activities during the festival in their respective social media accounts.

Kadayawan Festival director Gatch Gatchalian said Facebook lives and live tweets will be launched in every event to be conducted all throughout the festival to further promote Kadayawan to a wider network.

For this year, the festival committee’s official social media group partner is the Davao Digital Influencers (DDI) headed by Glen Santillan. Together with DDI, Gatchalian said they have launched a number of online promos and prices all throughout the entire festival.

Every Kadayawan event, specific warriors will be assigned for its online promotion in order to feed the followers with updates.

“We really took advantage of the social media because it’s for free. That’s the fastest and most real time updates that we can do for our Kadayawan activities,” he said.

“I would like to request everybody to always use the hashtag Kadayawan in all social media formats. If Kadayawan would become trending for the entire week, then we can show to the whole Philippines and the world that the situation here is normal and they should celebrate with us,” Gatchalian said.

In a separate report, Gatchalian said they are expecting almost 170,000 tourists to arrive in Davao City for the duration of Kadayawan Festival alone. This is despite of the Martial Law declaration for the entire Mindanao.

Gatchalian said they are hopeful that people from Luzon and Visayas would come and celebrate Kadayawan Festival. He also urge Dabawenyos to continue promoting the festival in their respective social media accounts.
