Competitiveness roadshow in Bacolod today

THE National Competitiveness Council (NCC) in coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Competitiveness Bureau and DTI- Negros Occidental is holding a “Competitiveness Roadshow” at Planta Hotel in Bacolod City today.

Romel Amihan, DTI-Negros Occidental senior trade and development specialist, said the activity is NCC’s continuing advocacy on improving the Philippines global competitiveness ranking through policy reforms, project implementation, institution building, performance monitoring, and goal setting.

It is also aimed at creating awareness among micro, small, medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the province in terms of the national competitiveness initiatives as well as its impact to the local competitiveness, Amihan added.

The following day, a “Capacity Building Program Forum” themed, “Discovering Government E-Services” will also be held.

Amihan said the event is seen to increase the level of awareness of the government initiatives that will ease the burden of bureaucratic transactions such as on line applications, payments, registrations, and other services.

Representatives from Philhealth, Social Security Sysstem, Bureau of Internal Revenue and Pag-Ibig will present and introduce the E-service and demonstrate to the participants how it works.

Aside from MSMEs, the two-day seminar will also be participated by consumers, representatives from public and private sectors, academic student leaders, and local government units. (EPN)
