Job fair at the Capitol on August 18

THE Misamis Oriental Provincial Government is facilitating a two-day job fair for overseas work which began on Thursday, August 17, and ends on Friday, August 18, at the Capitol Grounds from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Rosuetta Colastre of the Provincial Public Employment and Services Office, said the Pacific Star International Employment Agency Corporation is the agency behind the job fair.

Colastre assured applicants that Pacific Star is a legal domestic corporation organized under Philippine Laws and is a duly licensed recruitment agency as per License No. POEA-015-LB-052616-UL issued by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).

The company is hiring domestic helpers for Hongkong, Kuwait, Malaysia, and Jordan.

The agency is also offering skilled positions such as steel fixer, pipe fitter, oxywelder, founder, building electrician, electrician, quantity surveyor, draftsman, QA engineer, AC technician, safety engineer, duct fabricator, plumber, mason and carpenter, in Doha, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Turks and Caicos Island.

Colastre said applicants should be 23 to 39 years old, a high school or college graduate but undergraduate applicants are still welcome as long as they can speak and understand English.

"And more importantly, hardworking and with good attitude," she said.

Processing fees for the acquisition of passports, pre and final medical checkup, POEA processing, embassy stamping, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration clearances and accommodations in Davao and Manila are free of charge.

No placement fee and salary deductions will also be asked from the applicants.

But Colastre clarified that freebies are only limited for applicants who are bound for Kuwait, Malaysia, and Jordan.

If interested, the applicants must bring birth certificate, marriage contract, two valid identification cards (e.g. Postal ID, SSS ID, Voters ID, TIN ID), baptismal certificate, school records (e.g. Transcript of Records, diploma or year book and Voters certification.

Capitol spokesperson Nicole Managbanag said the agency is looking to hire over a hundred applicants for the said jobs.
