Hiyas ng Bagobo-Tagabawa is Best in Talent

THE Hiyas ng Bagobo-Tagabawa tribe bagged this year's best in cultural presentation.

Jenfin Puroc Aguan of the Bagobo-Tagabawa tribe was declared the winner in the Cultural Presentation of the Hiyas ng Kadayawan 2017.

Sittie Haya Lanto Cairoden of the Maranao Tribe snatched First Runner-up and Ainadhel Awang Blas of Tausug Tribe was declared as 2nd Runner-up.

Cristito Ingay from the Davao City Provincial Office of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, one of the judges of the event said that Aguan showed "perfect execution" of her performance.

"Yung dialect niya at yung artistry niya, at tsaka yung pinortray niya na story maganda. At yung mastery ng hiyas ng performer, hindi yung mga kasama niya siya mismo, perfect talaga ang execution niya (Her dialect and her artistry, and the story she portrayed are beautiful. She did a perfect execution and mastery in her performance as a hiyas performer)," Ingay said.

Aguan said that she prepared for more than three weeks for her cultural presentation.

"Ang maayo didto kay after sa among practice naga-meet me and ang akoang coach kay pastor man siya, and naga-share mi sapulong sa Ginoo and maybe that is the major reason nganong nakuha nako ang title sa best in talent karong adlawa so nagapasalamat ko og dako. Unta magpadayon ang pagsalig ug suporta sa akong mga katribu. (My coach, who's also a pastor would initiate a discussion on the God's word every after practice. I think that's one of the major reasons why I got this title)," Aguan said.

She also hoped that her tribe members will continue trusting her as the competition progresses.
