CEBUANA actress Kim Chiu clarified she is not dating a non-showbiz foreigner, adding she enjoys the company of perennial love team, Xian Lim.
When Sun.Star and other entertainment press recently caught up with the two, Lim was asked on the status of their friendship.
The Kapamilya actor then turned to Chiu and said, "Malapit na ba? Wala pa rin?"
"Basta masaya kami. We're really happy and I enjoy Xian's company all the time," a smiling Chiu said.
Chiu said she and Lim are not seeing other people, debunking rumors that she has a foreigner suitor.
"Wala (suitor). Siya [Lim] din wala e. Ako talaga nagsabi? Alam ko wala siya," she said.
"[Dating a foreigner?] Naku, baka nasa hospital na ako at dumudugo na ang ilong ko. Foreigner? Hindi ko kaya. Paano ako... Hindi ko kaya. Buti yung AmBoy lang, half-American."
Chiu said she prefers going out with an "Amboy," a Tagalog term for a male who grew up in the United States. Lim was raised by her mom in the US while her ex-boyfriend, Gerald Anderson, is half-American.
The actress added that she's comfortable when she's with Lim as they've worked together for years now.
The two are set to appear in a new series on ABS-CBN.
"Ang tagal na namin magkasama, four years na, mas naging solid yung foundation naming dalawa. So, sobra akong happy na andiyan siya," Chiu said.
When one reporter asked Lim if he could wait for Chiu until she is ready to enter into a relationship again, the actor said: "Of course. There's no time limit and basta ako masaya ako pag andiyan si Kim." (Sunnex)
