Roadshow to feature new biz opportunities

AN INVESTMENT roadshow meant to guide Filipino and foreign investors in matching their entrepreneurial and financial capacities will be held in Baguio City as an effort to steer the country’s economic growth to a broader and sustainable path.

With the theme “Scaling Up and Dispersing Opportunities”, the Board of Investments (BOI)–Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has conducted regional roadshows from the National Capital Region and is scheduled to be in Baguio City on August 24 at Hotel Elizabeth.

The BOI-DTI roadshow will also present the country’s Investment Priority Plan (IPP) for 2017-2019 guided by the current administration’s initiative to address inequality, empower the powerless, highlight inclusivity, and bring prosperity for all.

As the country’s fundamental investment policy tool which boosts micro, small and medium enterprises and disperses opportunities for employment and innovations, the IPP serves as the blueprint that helps maintain the country’s competencies.

The 2017 IPP will be presented by Gov. Lucita Reyes of the BOI Board of Governors after the opening message of Mayor Mauricio Domogan. DTI-CAR regional director Myrna Pablo will give the opening message and DTI-Cagayan Valley regional director Ruben Diciano will close the morning session of the roadshow.

Other activities of the DTI-BOI Regional Roadshows have been modified to enhance inclusive economic development and it now includes all manufacturing activities including agro-processing, fishery and the development of forest plantations in private lands.

Since, the 2017 IPP promotes other industries such as food processing, IT-related services, digital or technological startups, telecommunications, engineering and construction as well as healthcare services, it also includes overseas shipping, pipeline for oil and gas, training/learning facilities, testing laboratories, domestic industrial zones, and tollways.

These and other investment opportunities will be presented by the speakers and interested participants can get in touch with Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist Andea Tactay of DTI-CAR Regional Office at Cariño Street, Baguio City. (PR)
