Security tight for ‘Pamulak’

DAVAO. Security forces are getting ready for this year's Pamulak sa Kadayawan.

TASK Force Kadayawan 2017, composed of different security officers from different agencies, is all set for Sunday's Pamulak sa Kadayawan with thousands of combined law enforcers deployed to man the activities and ensure the safety and welfare of the public.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) city director, Senior Superintendent Alexander Tagum, on Saturday, August 19, said that they will double their efforts for the activity to maintain the peaceful celebration of the 32nd Kadayawan Festival 2017.

On Saturday, thousands of crowds converged on the streets to witness participants from different places in Mindanao clad in their colorful tribal costumes for the Indak-Indak sa Kadayawan.

"Our Kadayawan Festival's Indak-Indak has drawn a massive crowd of onlookers from local and foreign tourists that were amply covered by the multiple layers of protection of Task Force Kadayawan ‘17," Tagum said.

The activity, he said, served as their dry run for Sunday's much bigger activity as he assured that law enforcers are ready to respond to eventualities and potential threats to security.
