Central Luzon has 300 new policemen

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Luzon Regional Director Chief Superintendent Aaron Aquino last Friday, August 18, administered the oath of office of the police recruits held at the parade ground here.

Senior Superintendent Enrico Vargas, Chief of the Regional Police Personnel and Human Resource Development Division (RPHRDD) presented the new police officers at the PRO3 Parade Ground.

Of the 300 police recruits, 240 are males and 60 are females. All were given the rank of Police Officer 1 (PO1).

The new police personnel were chosen after a stringent screening process conducted by the Regional Screening Committee on Recruitment headed by Chief Superintendent Elmer Bantog, PRO-Central Luzon Deputy Regional Director for Administration.

After their oath-taking ceremony, the police recruits will undergo one year training at the Regional Training School 3 in Magalang, Pampanga.

“Remember that our job entails adherence to the PNP philosophy of Service, Honor and Justice. You are being given this opportunity to enter this service. Huwag niyo nang haluan ng kalokohan. I will be quick in dismissing you if you engage in illegal activites. With the bad image that the organization is facing, we need dedicated, honest and responsible police officers, so make sure you are sincere about this,” Aquino told recruits.

“Madami na akong pinadala sa Mindanao and now they are facing charges because of their alleged involvement in criminal activities. I am your appointing officer, I will be the one to dismiss you if I found out later that you are not fit to serve the Philippine National Police or if you have other motives, other than serving the public,” he said.

The hiring of the 300 applicants completes the PO1 Regular Recruitment Program for the year 2017. (Ric Sapnu)
