San Fernando disaster council ready for rainy days

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Officials of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council here said that they are fully equipped and trained for the incoming rainy season.

"We are really preparing. In fact, July is the Disaster Consciousness Month and one of the activities is the Barangay Rescue Olympics. We already trained some of the barangays and we want to improve what they've learned," Apple David, an Admin Officer and Deputy for Research and Planning said.

She added that they have enough and well-trained personnel for immediate response especially to the flood prone Barangays in the city.

"We have augment personnel in the city halls and barangays," she added.

She also said that their office has personnel 24/7, which were always ready especially during typhoon because we encounter it almost every year.

"We have a very active CDRRM council. Sila yung personnel ng emergency operation when fully activate." David said.

She added that the schools and covered courts that can be used as evacuation centers are in the northern part of the city.

She also said that they are expecting for more rain to come this year because we had a very high temperature this summer.
