A MALE teenager died while his younger brother and cousin were injured after they were shot by their three neighbors at Purok 2, Barangay Abaca in Cauayan, Negros Occidental Saturday night.
Police identified the fatality as Eduardo Layan Jr., 16. Injured were his 15-year-old brother and cousin Rene Boy Sabanal, 38.
Cauayan police chief Gary Alan Resuma said the victims were about to sleep when brothers Ruel and Ronel Cardiente, and Wilfredo Cardiente arrived and fired at them.
The two wounded victims were brought to a hospital.
Resuma said police are eyeing land conflict as the motive.
All three suspects remain at-large.
