Cafgu member, 3 others caught in Cebu, Bohol drug busts

AUTHORITIES caught four drug personalities, including a member of the Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit (Cafgu), in Danao City and Tabuelan town of Cebu, and Tagbilaran City in Bohol.

Nabbed was Marlon Noval Rebato for allegedly selling illegal drugs in Barangay Tabunok, Tabuelan, at 11:25 a.m. Monday, August 21. He yielded eight small packs of white crystals believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as "shabu."

Before he was caught, police received reports about Rebato's involvement in illegal drug trade. Three-week surveillance confirmed his illegal activities.

Rebato also yielded a cell phone, drug paraphernalia, and three marked bills of P100 used in the drug bust.

A newly identified drug personality was caught at 11:53 a.m. Tuesday, August 22, in a drug bust in Lapu-Lapu Street in Barangay Poblacion, Danao City.

Mario Casona Verances yielded 15 packs of suspected shabu.

The contraband has a Dangerous Drugs Board value of P242,490.

Operatives also confiscated cash amounting to P2,000 believed to the suspect's proceeds in drug trafficking and a cell phone.

Two suspected drug personalities were also caught in a drug bust in Cabisa Street in Ubujan District, Tagbilaran City, Bohol, at 11 a.m. Monday, August 21.

Seized by the joint team of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas and Bohol police were 20 grams of white crystals also believed to be shabu.

The contraband has an estimated market value of P100,000.

Suspects are Paul Ian Baliog and Renz Botero. Baliog had been listed as a drug pusher, while he employed Botero to assist him.

Operatives confiscated a digital weighing scale and two cell phones. (KAL, JKV)
