Father, son caught in Carcar drug bust

ANTI-NARCOTICS operatives caught a 54-year-old man and his son in a drug bust in Barangay Perrelos, Carcar City, Cebu, on Sunday, August 20.

Mario Laputan Sr., 54, and Mario Jr., 24, yielded five packs of white crystals believed to methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as "shabu," and cash amounting to P600 believed to be proceeds of their illegal activities after their arrest.

Carcar City Police Chief Jose Liddawa said they were informed about the Laputans' illegal activities by the village officials.

The suspects were charged last Monday with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (KAL)
