Jessy reacts to critic addressing her insecurities

JESSY Mendiola fired back at critic questioning the motives of her social media posts about embracing one's flaws and embracing his/her body.

In a recent Instagram entry, the Kapamilya actress uploaded a photo bearing the message, "Don't hate your legs. It will take you places."

Mendiola also wrote that there will be moments when one's insecurities will be bigger than his/her confidence, but people should remain optimistic on things.

"Always look at the bright side. Not feeling awesome today, but I'm fighting it. Trust me, every single day is a struggle. You are not alone."

A certain Mira Roque then called the attention of the actress as the former got confused on the message Mendiola is trying convey to her followers.

Roque wrote: "Panay sabi ka na embrace your body and be confident tapos biglang ganire?! Be happy of your body ba talaga or keep whining about your insecurities? Ano ba talaga advocacy mo girl?"

Mendiola then told her follower that it's not every day that she will feel confident about herself and it’s normal to feel down sometimes.

"May panahon na feeling superwoman ka may panahon na feeling down ka. Ano ka perfect?" she fired back.

The actress added that she has been consistent with her advocacy of loving one's self.

"Ang advocacy ko ay mahaling mo sarili mo, na kahit minsan hindi mo feel katawan mo pero lumalaban ka padin para maging best version mo."

Even her mother, Didith Garvida, defended her daughter from Roque.

"Ang sinasabi nya it's a struggle and she is in unison with those struggling with their body but just keep fighting that feeling and be truly confident and just look at the bright side of everything."

To recall, the actress was the subject of several body shaming comments after she was hailed as the Sexiest Woman in the Philippines in 2016.

Mendiola maintained that she's happy with her shape and embraces her flaws. (SunStar Philippines)
