53rd Army Engineers donate blood

Cebu City - The 53rd Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army commemorates its 32nd Founding Anniversary by instilling its core purpose which is “Serving the People, Securing the Land” by donating 82,750 cc of blood to the Philippine Red Cross.

The bloodletting activity on August 26, 2017 was conducted simultaneously through teleconferencing by the Headquarters 53rd Engineer Brigade based in Cebu City and its five Engineer Battalions located in the different islands of Visayas.

This activity is in line with the Civic Action Program of the brigade in consonance to its anniversary theme: Building and Upholding the Bridges of Peace and Progress on a Foundation of Sincere Service and Good Governance.

The 184 donors were instantly rewarded by the numerous health benefits attributed by the process and it also supports their comrades fighting in Marawi conflict who are in need of blood for transfusion.(PR)
