AN EX-PHILIPPINE Army officer and three others were arrested during a drug bust in Sitio Kabulihan, Barangay Guba, Cebu City, on Tuesday afternoon, August 22.
Former Private First Class Stanley Coca, 26, together with cohorts Jerson Zanoria, 33, Alvin Sollano, 33 and Benjamin Leyson, 33, were arrested by the drug enforcement unit of Talamban Police Station.
Senior Inspector Arieza Otida, Talamban Police chief, said that the arrested were caught repacking methampethamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu.
"They were already repacking the drugs for disposal because Coca resides in the neighboring mountain Barangay of Adlaon. We believe that he purposely went there to sell the shabu," Otida said.
However, the subject of the buy-bust, a certain "Necing" whom a concerned citizen complained of because of the rampant drug trade in the area, managed to escape.
Zanoria, shot on the leg by the policeman after he aimed his gun at them, was immediately brought to the nearest hospital.
Confiscated from their possession were 16 small sachets of shabu, a caliber 357 revolver with four live bullets, a caliber 9mm with four bullets and various drug paraphernalia. (JOB/SunStar Cebu)
