CEBLU (Collaborative Effort Building a Livable Universe) presents “Sadaqah: A Benefit Concert for Marawi Evacuees” on Sept. 3, at Handuraw Pizza White Gold.
Displaced by the Marawi crisis, over 25 families left their homes in Marawi to seek refuge in Cebu. These families need basic necessities such as food and clothing. “Sadaqah: A Benefit Concert for Marawi Evacuees” aims to raise funds to support these evacuated families.
Cebu-based musical artists Paul Caca, Silingan ni Felicity, David Wilde (David Wilde and Zeejacob), Rio, Kurt Fick and Jacky Chang will pledge their talents to the cause.
“Sadaqah means charity in Islam,” explained Dr. Ijoden Mamacol, risk and disaster management head of the Cebu Islamic Center.
“This is a great opportunity to let more people know how they can help,” Anna Helen Zeta Yap of Silingan Ni Felicity said.
“We are happy to organize this event to help our fellow countrymen. With our very talented musicians, we invite everyone to join us in a night of music, appreciation and charity,” co-founder of Ceblu, lawyer Pinky Veloso said.
The event is supported by Rotary Club of Cebu Fort San Pedro. And entrance is at P100. All proceeds and donations will go to the evacuee-families. Donations in cash and in kind will be accepted on the night of the event. Donation distribution will be handled by the Cebu Islamic Center. (PR)
