Man shot dead in Mandaue City

A MAN was shot dead while walking along the highway in Barangay Maguikay, Mandaue City, past 7 p.m., Wednesday, August 23.

Police identified the victim as Fidel "Junior" Yocti, a resident in Upper Laguarta, Barangay Lahug, believed to be around 37 or 38 years old.

Chief Inspector Mercy Villaro, Mandaue City police spokesperson, said that Yocti was walking from Nutri Asia Company in Barangay Maguikay.

When the victim reached the road near the pedestrian overpass in Sitio Sudlon, two unknown men on motorcycle arrived and shot him.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound in his nape resulting to his immediate death.

As of 9:50 p.m., personnel from the Mandaue Police Station 4 are conducting a hot pursuit operation to identify the suspects. (FMG)
