P450M in supplemental budgets okayed

THE Provincial Board of Negros Occidental approved three supplemental budgets worth P450.114 million during the regular session Wednesday.

One of the approved appropriations was Supplemental Budget No. 3 of the General Fund worth P412 million.

Second District Board Member Salvador Escalante Jr., chairman of SP committee on appropriations, budget, finance, ways and means, said that part of the appropriation, which is P300 million, was earmarked for the purchase of the 25-hectare land in Barangay Matab-ang, Talisay City for P225 million, and the 40-hectare property in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City for P260 million.

The Capitol had already paid a P60-million down payment for the two properties.

Also approved by the Provincial Board was Supplemental Budget No. 2 of the Economic Enterprise Development Department (EEDD) amounting to P16.90 million.

The appropriation will be used for the purchase of furniture and fixtures of Mambukal Resort in Murcia, office equipment, and firefighting equipment.

The Provincial Board also approved Supplemental Budget No. 2 of Hospital Operations Department worth P20.50 million for the operations of some of the Capitol-run hospitals.
