Polyfloor scores 5th straight win

POLYFLOOR continued to sizzle after capturing their fifth straight win and remain at No. 1 in the Architects+Engineers Basketball Association (A+EBA) 1st Davies Cup.

Polyfloor exacted their revenge on Elasto Gel with an 85-74 victory last Sunday at the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Gym.

Elasto Gel beat Polyfloor, 56-51, in both teams' first meeting.

Malvin Malicdem exploded with 27 points and added seven rebounds, four assists and four steals. Kurt Vanguardia also added big numbers for Polyfloor with 18 points, six assists, five steals and two blocks. Loreniel Tequin chipped in 17 points with 14 boards, five assists and four blocks.

Niel Bacus kept Estagol, which was trailing all game long, alive with 32 points and eight rebounds. Nestor Naparota contributed 20 points with 15 rebounds and six blocks, while Ronald Lim had a near double-double with 18 points, nine assists and six rebounds.

On the other hand, Aqua Gloss It finally logged their first win with a 78-68 victory over Acreex.

Paul Sasan had a huge game for Aqua Gloss It with 39 points, six rebounds and seven steals; Ferdinand Tiro had double-double with 13 points and 12 boards.

Alexander Vidal led Acreex with 17 points, while Mito Parba had 14 points, nine rebounds, five steals and five blocks.

Stay Clean beat Fusion, 92-86, for the No. 2 spot.

Michael Cinco sizzled with 35 points and added 11 rebounds, while Josephril Partosa and Paul Besinga 20 and 16 points for Stay Clean respectively.

Elvis Taliquig and Ed Macasling had 20 points each to lead Fusion.

Polyfloor has a firm grip of the top spot with 5-1, while Stay Clean is trailing behind with 4-2. Fusion and Elasto Gel are at third and fourth with identical records of 3-3, followed by Acreex with 2-4 and Aqua Gloss It with 1-5.
