LEYLAM FC's Madi Nji and Don Bosco United FC's (DBUFC) Bong Aller have been slapped with one match suspension and will be missing their matches this weekend in the Men's Open division of the 17th Aboitiz Football Cup at the Cebu City Sports Center football pitch.

"Both drew red cards. Madi Nji is suspended for the finals. Bong Aller is also suspended for one game. The CFA (Cebu Football Association) Board will review the matter if further penalties are in order," CFA vice-president Rico Navarro told Sun.Star Cebu.

Nji and Aller got into a fight at the end of Leylam FC's 4-1 beating of DBUFC in the semifinals. The scuffle, however, was quickly defused by officials and players that quickly intervened.

According to Navarro, the referees decided to hand Nji and Aller red cards for their actions despite the match being over, which means an automatic one-match suspension.

"Red cards can be given. And it was also reviewed post-match," said Navarro.

Leylam FC, last year's runner-up, is taking on Erco BRO Gau in the championship match this Sunday. DBUFC, in the meantime, faces off with Don Bosco Technology Center Erco BRO for third place.

Nji and Aller, however, aren't still off the hook and CFA will soon decide if they deserve stiffer punsihments.

"The refs and tournament committee decided on that. The board will review the case as a body to see if any more penalties are to be added," said Navarro.
