THE Davao City Riders stood tall on the winner’s podium at the close of the 19th Kadayawan Lumba Bisikleta held at the Crocodile Park Grounds along Diversion Road, Davao City Saturday.
The Orlando Sabejon, Mario Buro, Francis Jay Guillaran and Angelita Acedo-bannered Davao City Riders earned a total of 31 points to annex the team category title and the P10,000 champion purse courtesy of the Sports Development Division-City Mayors Office (SDD-CMO).
They bested Davao City Team A composed of Myra Regina Acedo, Johane Zane Takatoshi Kagitomi, Joshua Gaon and Brian Cantomayor who scored 27 points and Team Lutayan of Sarangani Province who had 17 points, placing second and third, respectively.
Davao City Team A received P5,000 while Team Lutayan pocketed P3,000.
On the individual event, Buro of the Davao City Riders swept two titles including the boy's 13 and under road bike and mountain bike events.
Francis Jay Guillaran won the boy's 15 and under road bike event as Sabejon clinched the boy's 19 and under crown.
Defending champion Myra Regina Acedo retained her title in the girl's 19 and under road bike and mountain bike events.
Emmanuel Ebora from Malaybalay Bukidnon, however, ruled the boy's 15 and under mountain bike event while Redentor Fortuza of Team Koronadal emerged champion in the boy's 19 and under mountain bike category.
Takatoshi, for her part, governed the BMX category of the event sanctioned by PhilCyling.
