6 persons nabbed in separate drug busts

A VILLAGE watchman and five others were arrested for sale and possession of illegal drugs in separate operations in Negros Occidental in the past three days.

On August 25, Mario Molo, 47, a street level target drug suspect, of Barangay IV-Poblacion, Himamaylan City, was collared by police in a drug bust.

Seized from Molo were two sachets of suspected "shabu" (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P1,000, and the P500 marked money.

On the same day, newly-identified drug personalities were arrested on Burgos-Bonifacio Street, Barangay 2, Silay City.

Police identified the suspects as Josel Coronel, 32; and Noel Escalera, 39, both of Silay City; and Ronnel Fernandez, 22, of Barangay San Jose, E.B. Magalona town.

Recovered from the three suspects were seven sachets of shabu worth P4,000, the P300 marked money, drug paraphernalia, and P90 in cash.

Also arrested in Silay City last Friday was Ronilo Tamin, 34, of Barangay Rizal after he was caught selling a sachet of shabu to an unidentified man at Antonio Luna Interior, Barangay Mambulac.

Tamin further yielded another sachet of shabu and P330 in cash.

In Bacolod City, Gilbert Obianda, 32, of Barangay Handumanan, was arrested at Purok Maghiliugyon, Barangay 35, early Sunday morning after he yielded a sachet of shabu.
