A COUPLE was arrested by operatives in a drug bust Monday afternoon in Victorias City.

Police identified the suspects as Monzon Lee, 37, and his live-in partner Frenchie Nicor, 27, of Barangay 3 in said city.

Also arrested was Maricor de Asis, 37, of Zone 4, Barangay 9.

Superintendent Santiago Rapiz of Victorias City Police Station said Tuesday that De Asis and the couple sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer.

Police recovered from De Asis’s possession one small plastic sachet of suspected shabu, cellular phone, and the P300 marked money.

Found in the couple’s possession were one elongated plastic sachet of suspected shabu, three big plastic sachets of suspected shabu, five small plastic sachets of suspected shabu, one small plastic sachet with traces of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, cellular phone, P9,100 in cash, and the P1, 000 marked money.

Rapiz said De Asis is number 2 in their drug watchlist. He said the recovered contraband has a market value of P75, 000.

In Silay City, a former ranger, who is also number two in drug watchlist, evaded arrest in a raid conducted by operatives at his house in Bonifacio Tangke, Barangay 2, of said city at about 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Armed with search warrant issued by Judge Felipe Banzon of Regional Trial Court Branch 69, the operatives led by Supt. Rosauro Francisco swooped down the residence of Ritchie Oro alias “Ranger” for violation of illegal drugs.

However, Franciso said the suspect noticed them and he escaped through the roof.

Police recovered inside Oro’s house six small plastic sachets of suspected shabu, three small plastic sachets with traces of suspected shabu, and drug paraphernalia.

Oro will face charges for violation of Sections 11 and 12 of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
