Army records 132 arrests since martial law declaration

AT LEAST 132 law-breaking individuals in the locality were arrested under the jurisdiction of the army's 4th Infantry Division (4ID) since the declaration of martial law in Mindanao.

Of 132, 119 of them were put behind bars due to alleged criminal acts, even as 13 were cleared from charges based on the data released by the 4ID Public Affairs Office in Camp Evangelista, Barangay Patag.

The military also reported that a total of 27 firearms, 8,627 bullets, and 19 improvised explosives were seized.

The troops also confiscated over 300 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu,” worth around P2 million in various operations coordinated by other law enforcement agencies such the police and the anti-narcotics agency.

Since President Rodrigo Duterte declared military rule in the island last May 23, a total of 375 checkpoints and 232 patrols were conducted by the different units and battalions.

In more than three months since Mindanao had been placed under military rule following the Marawi City siege, the Camp Evangelista Station Hospital (CESH) accommodated 1,047 battle casualties and catered 374 other medical cases.

As of Wednesday, August 30, the current number of CESH patients is 62 while 68 medical cases were being attended.

The 4ID also reported that it received nearly P9 million worth of 'in-kind' donations such as medical kits, hospital equipment, food, water and individual care packages intended for battle casualties and soldiers fighting the Maute terror group in Marawi City.
