COLONEL Nicolas Memfin is officially the new commander of Task Force Davao.
Memfin, during the change of command ceremony at Sta. Ana Pier in Davao City Wednesday, August 30, vowed to continue safeguarding the welfare of the city against threats of terrorism and sustain the prevailing peace and order in the city.
"I thank you all for your trust and confidence that I can deliver what is expected of a commander. I will maintain, if not surpass, the good image and legacy that Task Force Davao has etched in the history of Davao City," Memfin assured.
Memfin is a member of the Philippine Military Academy "Bigkis Lahi" Class of 1990 and graduated top eight in a class of 147.
Prior to his designation as the TFD commander, he used to be the chief of Governance and Strategy Management Office of the 10th Infantry Division (ID) and commander of the 78th Infantry Battalion under the 8th ID.
The ceremony was attended by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, Eastern Mindanao Command deputy commander Brigadier Gilbert Gapay, 10th ID Assistant Division Commander Bienvenido Datuin, Philippine National Police and other stakeholders.
