MABALACAT CITY -- Elements of the city police intelligence unit seized P200,000 worth of illegal drugs from three suspected pushers arrested in a recent drug bust operation.
Superintendent Ruel Cagape, officer in charge of the city police, said authorities seized methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as "shabu," and a gun during the anti-drug operations conducted along Fe Street in Barangay Mabiga.
Cagape said the operation led to the arrest of Jerome Layug, 37, of Madapdap resettlement, Leeann Addun, 33, of Margot Angeles Cit, and Russel Pecson, 26, of Fe Street, Mabiga, Mabalacat.
The apprehending officers, led by Inspector Jeffrey Jalandoni, also recovered a .38 caliber pistol from Pecson, according to Cagape.
Cagape said Pecson did not draw his gun during the police operation. He added that the local police under his leadership exercise maximum tolerance and follow the rules of engagement properly.
He said the suspects will appropriate charges.
