THE so-called “ber” months are here and so is the country’s Christmas season, said to be the longest worldwide. Expect Christmas songs to fill the airwaves then.
Daniel Matsunaga surprised Bea Alonzo’s character Andrea in “A Love To Last”—and me as well as I had no idea that he was in the cast.
Daniel was in Cebu more than two weeks ago to grace the opening of Stan’s Tinolahan + Grill.
He revealed that his love life is “zero” as he’s busy shooting three movies: “The Haunted,” “Meant To Beh” and “Fallback.”
“The biggest. The grandest. The most prestigious.” Thus claims the newest beauty contest in the country, Binibining Cebu. All 54 local government units of Cebu are represented.
There are 55 candidates though as Cebu City has one each for the north and south districts.
Some of the ladies have already joined (and won) national and international contests. However, the organizers didn’t forbid them from joining Binibining Cebu as they consider the contest being on equal footing with other competitions.
Bb. Cebu will have its coronation night at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino on Oct. 28. Pre-pageant activities are the Philippine Terno Competition on Sept. 23 at the Cabicera de Argao, Swimsuit Gala Dinner on Sept. 29 at the Grand Convention Center, Evening Gown Competition on Oct. 4 at SM Seaside City Cebu and the Pre-Pageant Interview on Oct. 25 at the Oakridge Pavilion.
The contest is organized by the Bb. Sugbu Charity Foundation Inc. with the Sacred Heart School for Boys (SHSB) Batch 1985 Foundation Inc. and supported by big companies.
Guest performers during the coronation night are Hey Joe, Don Juan, Side A, Cebu Symphony Orchestra and Richard Yap, also an SHSB Batch ‘85 member. Program hosts are Edu and Luis Manzano and Ms. Earth 2008 Karla Henry.
