Filipino-Turkish Tolerance School commemorates Eid’l Adha

THE Filipino-Turkish Tolerance School (FTTS) in Zamboanga City will once again commemorate Eid’l Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice on Friday, September 1.

FTTS director Maruf Celebi said on Thursday that as an annual tradition they will slaughter several cattle as a form of sacrifice, and shall be distributing its beef to indigent families.

Celebi said they will also share these beef with the different government and non-government institutions in Zamboanga City, thus, signifying the real essence of this great observance.

President Rodrigo Duterte has declared September 1 a regular holiday in observance of the said Muslim festival.

The declaration was issued through Proclamation No. 297 which the President signed August 29, 2017. (Bong Garcia)
