Vendor shot dead in Lapu-Lapu City

A 29-YEAR-OLD vendor was shot dead by unidentified assailants while he was tending to his food stall along S. Osmeña Street in Barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City Friday morning, September 1.

Querin Capulac suffered gunshot wounds in the left side of his chest, right shoulder and right eye resulting to his death.

In the report of the Lapu-Lapu Police Office Homicide Section, two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle stopped in front of the victim past 8 a.m.

The backrider then fired his gun three times to Capulac.

Jerelyn Espinosa, the victim's common-law wife, said she could not think of any reason why Capulac was killed.

Some witnesses said Capulac was a member of a gang group.

The victim was declared dead by a medical team. His body was brought to a funeral home and was scheduled to undergo autopsy examination.

Authorities were conducting follow-up operations to determine the motive and the suspects of the incident. (FMG)
