TWO accused drug pushers are facing charges before the court for selling illegal drugs during a drug bust in Piapi Boulevard, Davao City on August 12.
Charged with violation of the Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, are Junry Tarranza Montano, alias Jun; and his girlfriend Jessica Laolao, alias Ika.
Prosecutor Panfilo Junior Lovitos found probable cause to charge the two accused based on the complaint filed by Police Officer 1 Carlo Dames Martije, of the Sta. Ana Police Station.
In a two-page resolution dated August 23, the complainant attested that the accused sold one sachet of suspected "shabu" (methamphetamine hydrochloride) to a policeman who acted as a buyer.
Martije said it was Montano who handed the substance to the buyer while Laolao was the one who received the drug bust money.
Montano yielded five more sachets of shabu while Laolao yielded one sachet.
Samples of the substances recovered from the two accused were confirmed to be shabu based on chemistry report. The urine samples of the two accused also tested positive for methamphetamine.
