One-stop shop for LTO services gathers crowd

MORE than 4,500 individuals have attended the seminar on road traffic rules and free license renewal and registration on different barangays, including far flung areas in Davao City, through the Land Transportation Office (LTO) caravan.

City Councilor Jesus Joseph Zozobrado in a media forum last week said that for 2017, the one-stop shop done by LTO in partnership with his office catered to around 1,000 in Marilog District last February, 1,200 in Baguio District for March and April, more than 1,000 in Calinan District, 700 to 800 all in all in Tugbok Proper and more or less 500 in Barangay Sto.Niño Relocation area in August.

The services offered in the LTO Caravan are student permit issuance, drivers’ license renewal, motor vehicle and motorcycle registration renewal and motorcycle drivers road safety awareness seminar, and orientation.

Zozobrado said that the caravan is a form of "one-stop shop" that aims for the constant education of all the drivers and motorist about the proper conduct, proper knowledge about the traffic system which at the same time provides information on the right attitude and manner of driving that protects drivers and pedestrians.

"This is to make sure you are compliant with the traffic laws. This is a monthly program in partnership with the LTO, also in coordination with the city mayor, vice mayor's and the office of the Association of Barangay Captains President councilor January Duterte," he said.

Zozobrado is the vice-chairperson of the committee on transportation and public works of the City Council. (KVC)
