HUGE cash prizes are at stake in the 3rd Cebu Run for the Rivers this Sunday at the SM City Cebu Northwing.

The event, a fund-raising campaign for the reforestation and rehabilitation of the Mahiga Creek and Guadalupe River, is organized by Cebu Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and co-organized by Department of National Resources- Environmental Management Bureau Region 7.

The race has four categories—the men’s and women’s 21-kilometer, 10K, 5K and 3K. All but the 3K will be shelling out cash prizes to the top runners.

The champions in the men’s and women’s half-marathon will each get P10,000, the second placers will pocket P8,000, the third placers will get P6,000, while the fourth and fifth placers will receive P4,000 and P2,000 each. The rest of the top ten runners will be given a consolation of P750 each.

The top runners in the men’s and women’s 10K will be P5,000 richer, the second to fifth placers will get P3,000, P2,000, P1,000 and P750, respectively. The rest of the top ten will be getting P500 each.

The 5K, on the other hand, will only award the top five runners; the men’s and women’s champion will win P3,000 each, while P2,000 and P1,000 will go to the second and third placers, respectively. The fourth and fifth runners will walk away with P750 and P700 each.

Registration fee is P600 for the 21K, P500 for the 10K, P400 for 5K and P350 for the 3K . Entry forms are available at SM City Cebu, Runnr Store at Ayala Center Cebu, Cebu City Sports Center, Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, IPI office, Cebu City Hall main lobby and Beauty Horizon at the Colonade Mall.
