18 drug suspects nabbed in separate drug busts

EIGHTEEN persons were arrested in separate drug bust operations in Negros Island in the past four days.

In Negros Occidental, Raphy Casuya, 41, of Purok Tamsic, Barangay Miranda, Pontevedra town was slightly injured after he resisted arrest in a drug bust early morning of September 4.

Recovered from Casuya were six sachets of suspected "shabu" (methamphetamine hydrochloride), drug paraphernalia, and the P300 marked money.

Collared in Barangay 8 Poblacion, Isabela town on September 3 was Bartolome Osden Jr., 26, of Barangay 4 after selling a shabu to a police agent for P300.

Also seized from Osden were two sachets of shabu and the P300 marked money.

Three newly-identified drug suspects, John William Higino, 27; Roderick Balleza, 40; and Arwin Bensing, 39, were collared at Barangay 17, Victorias City on September 2.

Police operatives confiscated from them four sachets of shabu worth P5,000, drug paraphernalia, and the P300 marked money.

Also on September 2, Raynor Cañada, 60, of Purok 1, Barangay Tuyom, Cauayan town was arrested for sale and possession of illegal drugs.

He yielded two sachets of shabu worth P800 and the P200 marked money.

On the same day, Reynaldo Amores, 53, of Crossing Sagay, Barangay Poblacion 2, Sagay City, was arrested after selling a shabu to a police agent for P300.

In Cadiz City, Hazel Batuigas, 34, of Barangay Zone 3, and Lorina Trazo, 33, of Barangay Tinampa-an were arrested in a drug bust on September 2 that led to the recovery of two sachets of shabu, plastic straw, P470 in cash, and the P500 marked money.

On September 1, Risty Alimo-ot, 30, of Antonio Luna Interior, Barangay Mambulac, Silay City was arrested as a newly-identified drug personality.

He yielded 13 sachets of shabu worth P14,000, the P300 marked money, an improvised tooter, and P4,700 in cash.

In Talisay City, Marlon Laquiña, 33, of Purok Lagang, Barangay Zone 3 was arrested on the same day after police seized from him four sachets of shabu and the P100 marked money.

In Bacolod City, Joemarie Medel, 35, of Purok Kasanag, Barangay Mandalagan; and Rhandioly Villeon, 29, of Barangay Banago were collared by police on September 2.

Both yielded two sachets of shabu worth P600, an improvised tooter, and the P200 marked money.

Also arrested on Saturday was Johnrick Balverde, 26, of Barangay Alijis for illegal possession of deadly weapon and illegal drugs.

Police recovered from Balverde a 10-inch bladed weapon, a sachet of shabu, an improvised tooter and a lighter.

Two young men were arrested at Purok Star Apple, Barangay 27, Bacolod City on Sept. 2 after they carnapped the motorcycle of 18-year-old Angelo Quijano of Barangay Villamonte.

Arrested were Raymond Valiente, 21, and Willy Cesar, 20, both residents of Barangay Bata, who were mobbed by bystanders.

Upon police inspection, both suspects also yielded two sachets of shabu.

In Barangay Granada, Nazer Rapsing, 49, of Barangay Bata was arrested for engaging in illegal drug activity early morning on Sept. 3.

Rapsing, a drug surrenderer, was caught in possession of six sachets of shabu worth P5,000 and the P500 marked money.

In Negros Oriental, Raminie Bilbao, 25, of Sitio Tinago, Barangay 1, Dumaguete City was arrested on September 2 for possessing six sachets of shabu hidden in plastic straws and two more sachets of shabu and the P1,000 marked money.
