Zamboanga lines up activities marking mayor’s birthday

MAYOR Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar marks her birthday on Thursday, September 7, with activities aimed to showcase as well as further enhance and expand government services.

First on the list will be the turnover of vehicles to the police and the villages and dump trucks to the City Engineer’s Office (CEO) set at the City Hall grounds at 8:30 a.m.

To be turned over to the police are three Ford Pick-up trucks for the Police Stations 1, 2, and 3 while five L-300 vans will be turned over to the villages of Calabasa, Divisoria, Victoria, Lanzones and Manalipa.

The City Engineer’s Office will get two brand new dump trucks to augment its fleet of heavy equipment.

The turnover ceremony will be preceded by a surprise program for the mayor to be tendered by the city department heads at 8 a.m. at the City Hall grounds.

At 9 a.m., City Hall will roll out Dia del Alcalde (Mayor’s Day), the city’s free service caravan for City Government employees as well as the public.

Back to back with the Dia del Alcalde will be the ceremonial turnover of 433 houses in Vale Vista III with rites set to be held at the Vitaliano Agan Coliseum in the village of Tetuan. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
