Man holds 2 daughters hostage, says military is after him

A 40-YEAR-OLD electrician was arrested by police after he held hostage two of his daughters inside their house in Camella Homes, Lawaan 1 in Talisay City at 6 a.m. yesterday.

Police identified the suspect as George Pasaporte, who suddenly locked himself and his two daughters inside their bathroom.

He was armed with a kitchen knife.

In an interview, Pasaporte told reporters that he held hostage his daughters because military men were monitoring his movements for a week.

He said this had affected him so much that he started losing sleep for a week.

He claims a neighbor is accusing him of a crime he didn’t commit.

Arnie Jean Apellanes, Pasaporte’s live-in partner, told reporters that he wanted her to call the police.

Pasaporte then threatened Apellanes that he would kill their daughters if she doesn’t heed his request.

Apellanes said Pasaporte had not been sleeping and eating properly in the past few days.

She denied that Pasaporte was using illegal drugs.

PO1 Janet Marquez of the Talisay City Women and Children Protection Desk said they will file a case against Pasaporte if Apellanes wants to. (JKV)
