Sketch of second gunman to be out today: crime lab

THE Regional Crime Laboratory Office (RCLO) 7 will release the computerized facial composite of the second gunman of John “Ronli” Calizar today.

The crime laboratory is set to reveal the facial composite to the Talisay Police Station for identification aside from Jessie Largo, the other gunman.

A witness (name withheld) provided the facial details to the police.

Largo, together with the unidentified gunman, killed Calizar, the son of Philippine Information Agency (PIA) staff, Ferliza Contratista.

Largo is the subject of a province-wide manhunt in Cebu with Talisay City Mayor Eduardo Gullas offering a P50,000 cash reward for his arrest.

Talisay City

The new police chief of Talisay City vows to continue the investigation on the death of 22-year-old John Ronli Calizar.

Supt. Jason Villamater, acting Talisay City police chief, assured that he will continue the investigation and push a manhunt operation against murder suspect Jessie Largo. He inherited the case from his predecessor, Supt. Emerson Dante.

Last month, Calizar was sleeping in the boarding house of his girlfriend when Largo and an unidentified companion suddenly came in and shot him several times.

Largo and his colleague are still at-large, contrary to what was reported earlier.

With various calls from government officials, including Presidential Assistance for the Visayas (PAV) Michael Lloyd Dino, for Largo’s immediate arrest, Villamater said he wants his personnel to update him on the case.

He also urged Largo to surrender rather than face a full-blown operation against him.

Kung nagawa niya ang krimen, surrender na lang siya. Kung may warrant of arrest para sa kanya, surrender na lang siya. Wag na lang niyang hintayin nga isi-serve pa ang warrant sa kanya (If he did the crime, he should surrender. If there’s a warrant of arrest for him, he should also surrender. He shouldn’t wait that the warrant is served to him),” Villamater added.

In a separate interview, Talisay City Mayor Eduardo Gullas urged Villamater to prioritize the task of locating Largo.

He assured that the P50,000 reward for anyone who can provide information on Largo’s whereabouts still stands. (JKV, JOB)
