BACOLOD Councilor Wilson Gamboa is recommending that the city government file suit or countersuit on land ownership of the sanitary landfill.
During the regular session of the City Council on June 17, Gamboa recommended the filing of suit for specific performance of conveyance of the seven-hectare property to be transferred under the City of Bacolod.
Gamboa is urging Mayor Monico Puentevella to urgently resolve the land ownership issue hounding the sanitary landfill. He said this hampers the planned developments on the landfill to make it fully compliant with RA 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act.
Gamboa said Puentevella may file for expropriation of the seven-hectare property with damages against Dynasty Agricultural Corporation, or other properties suitable for a sanitary landfill.(CNC)
