Davao mayor to sign sisterhood agreement with Jinjang

DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio will soon sign a sisterhood agreement with Jinjang City as the Davao City Council approved on Tuesday an ordinance granting the mayor authority for the agreement.

Last Tuesday, the City Council approved the resolution and ordinance giving legislative authority to Duterte-Carpio to sign a sisterhood pact.

Based on the MOA, a five-year partnership that can be renewed for another five years can be enforced between two cities once the sisterhood agreement will take effect.

As stated in such Sister City Agreement, the partnership exchange and development of the cities will be in the fields of tourism, trade and commerce, health and wellness and science and technology.

Last February 5, 2018, the city mayor jointly signed the letter of intent for the establishment of friendly relations with Jinjang City Deputy Mayor Li Zili.

Aside from the approval of the legislative authority for the mayor to sign a sisterhood agreement with Jinjang, the City Council also gave the authority for the city mayor to sign the renewal of the sisterhood agreement between the City Government and the San Juan City, Metro Manila.
