Scania expands in Mindanao

SCANIA, leading manufacturer of trucks and buses for heavy transport applications, has recently entered the Mindanao market as they expand their operations outside Metro Manila here in Davao City.

In a statement the company said they saw potential in expanding their operations in Mindanao with the government's "Build, Build, Build" Program.

Scania, which entered the Philippine market in 2014 after signing an agreement with BJ Mercantile to be the official sales and services dealer in the country, is offering their clients quality heavy transport applications and services.

"The vehicles in Scania’s construction range are renowned for their excellent maneuverability, reliability and handling. Be it the Tipper, the Concrete Pump, or one of the lightest four-axle Concrete Mixers on the market, they are all fit for hard work in the most challenging conditions," the company said in a statement.

The company is also offering vehicles for mining and general cargo.

Aside from the vehicles, Scania also offers some quality services for their clients like their Repair and Maintenance Program and Connected Service.

"Scania is now introducing the option for customers to have vehicles serviced based on flexible maintenance plans. Instead of service based on set mileage, vehicles are called in for service when the operating data indicate that maintenance is needed. This means the vehicle receives exactly the maintenance it needs and, in most cases, spends less time idle at the workshop," the company said on their Repair and Maintenance Program.

The Connected Service or Fleet Management Service "helps customers take control of their fleets and get the most out of their businesses. The system is installed in all new Scania trucks and simply needs to be activated in order for the data to be accessed. It does not only gives data on location but also determines fuel economy, C02 emission and driver’s driving behaviour."

The company added service allows remote diagnostics, remote download, and driver coaching.

"Scania customers in Mindanao can expect the same level of service excellence Scania is known for in Manila and all around the world. Scania workshop services ensure they get the highest-quality advice, maintenance and genuine parts whenever or wherever they need them," the company said.
