THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) intensified the security measures inside its headquarters in Barangay Taculing to prevent the entry of intruders.
Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky, acting director of BCPO, said on Monday, September 11, that visitors with transactions will have to present and leave their identification cards at the gate in exchange of a visitor’s tag.
The policy was implemented effective September 11 in line with the Oplan Kalasag of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to intensify the security plan in camps.
Those with transactions at the City Director’s Office and Women and Children Protection Desk are given the blue visitor’s tag; Bacolod Traffic Authority Office and Traffic Management Unit, red tag; police clearances, green tag; Metro Bacolod District Jail -Special Intensive Care Area, gray; and for media, yellow, with all access inside the camp.
Those with multiple transactions should strictly use the specific color of the visitor’s tag one at a time.
Wanky said such security measure enables the police to identify persons who enter the BCPO headquarters.
He also said that private vehicles should be parked only at the designated parking area in front of the new building at the headquarters while taxis can no longer enter the compound.
The six closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras were re-positioned to clearly established border security, considering the existence of jail inside the headquarters.
To further strengthen security, Wanky said he requested for the procurement of additional 10 CCTVs to be installed at the headquarters.
