AN Australian firm servicing Asia’s leisure and hospitality industry is exploring Cebu as another market for software solutions primarily for hotel, resorts, restaurants, as well as spa and wellness.
Officials of Paradigm Shift Software Philippines met with local hospitality players at the Cebu City Waterfront Hotel and Casino yesterday to introduce the company’s services, which include membership management and point-of-sale solutions that are compliant with the tax regulations of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
“We see substantial potential in Cebu, based on what we see here. I think we have a substantial exposure requirement here. Once people know us, the rest will take care of itself,” said Paradigm Shift Japan senior director Prashant Nandha, adding that the company may invest in a support office in Cebu, depending on the demand coming from the local leisure players.
Currently, the company maintains its Philippine operations in Makati City, with nine people on board. The company plans to hire more to support its growing business in the country, which started in 2015. Some of its major clients include City of Dreams Manila and Tagaytay Highlands Country Club.
Nandha is proud of Paradigm’s BIR-compliant solutions for the hospitality industry.
“Ninety-nine percent of software that you have in the market here don’t make the distinction (compliant with BIR tax regulations). They wouldn’t make that specific distinction because Philippines is not their main market,” the official said.
“But when we committed to the Philippines, we decided to be fully compliant to all Philippine laws…We have inherently included that into the system so it covers all BIR requirements,” added Nandha.
The hope is that Cebu, as a vibrant tourism and hospitality hub, embraces BIR-compliant software solutions to run their day-to-day operations.
Other Paradigm Shift solutions include membership and club management, golf management, facility management, loyalty and rewards management, and restaurant table reservation.
