Tejero keeps top post at City Central School

CITY Central School principal Arnold Tejero, who is facing child abuse charges, will remain the principal of the most populated elementary public school in Cagayan de Oro.

According to Allan Farnazo, Department of Education in Northern Mindanao regional director, that although in prison, Tejero cannot be removed from his post, pointing out that the latter can still avail all legal remedies available.

Farnazo said though several complaints have already been filed before appropriate office such as the Office of the Ombudsman against the principal, there is still no decision that dismissed Tejero from service.

Farnazo, in that event, said Tejero has still the options to contest the decisions rendered.

"Dili man siya matangtang kay naa may legal process ana, bag-o man ta makatangtang (He won’t be kicked out of the position since we have a legal process), we would want to receive first a complaint, pareha gud anang mga governors na naay kaso, mo-continue man sila sa ilang duty (just like those of the governors, even with their cases, they may continue on their duties)," he said.

Chief Inspector Harvey Abellanosa, station commander of the Cogon police, said Tejero is brought to Lumbia City Jail yesterday morning, following the receipt of his commitment order.

Abellanosa said Tejero has yet to post bail, which is worth P80,000.

Tejero was arrested after a warrant of arrest, issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 22, came out against him for alleged child abuse.

It can be recalled that Tejero was also accused of acts of lasciviousness last year, filed by a mother of a 5th grader. He was also accused of sexual harassment by his own teachers.
