Atom Araullo bids goodbye to ABS-CBN

ATOM Araullo is leaving ABS-CBN.

This was confirmed by the journalist himself on Friday, September 15, after releasing an official statement thanking the station.

"Working with ABS-CBN for over a decade has been an amazing adventure. However, the time has come to explore emerging opportunities and challenges beyond the organization," he said.

Araullo added that even though he's taking a new path, he only has respect and gratitude for ABS-CBN which helped shaped his television career.

"To all the hardworking men and women of ABS-CBN, maraming maraming salamat," he said.

ABS-CBN, on its part, wishes Araullo the best in his future endeavor.

"ABS-CBN has allowed journalist Atom Araullo to explore new interests in film, broadcast, and digital media outside of the company. Atom says the training and exposure he got from the network as reporter and TV host have equipped him to try out other opportunities in the media industry here and abroad."

Araullo's career with the Kapamilya station started when he co-hosted "Y Speak" back in 2004 on Studio 23, an affiliate network of ABS-CBN.

He, later on, became part of "The Correspondents" and eventually decided to try his hands at news reporting.

Before saying goodbye to the network, Araullo is part of morning show "Umagang Kay Ganda" and headlines late night program "Red Alert."

Meanwhile, rumors have it that Araullo is moving to GMA Network, though no confirmation yet from the station. (SunStar Philippines)
