MORE than P300,000 worth of white crystals believed to be shabu were seized by the operatives of San Nicolas Police Station.
In Sitio Lawis, Pasil, at 10 a.m., 64-year-old Evangeline Paro Oyao was caught along with her son Jhon Lyster, 22. Suspected cohorts Glenn delos Santos Aying, 42; and Julcar Bacus Laraño, 31, were also arrested.
Oyao, the operation’s main target, blamed poverty as the reason that she joined the illegal drug trade a year ago.
Police confiscated eight grams of shabu worth P99,928 from her.
At 12:30 a.m., police arrested alleged high-value target Khenny Osmeña, Ringo Reyes, 44, Elmer Piloton, 38, Geimar Oliverio, 32, Ray Gonzales, 38, Riczen Balame, 29, and Kie Tayona, 21, on A. Lopez St., Calamba. They yielded 20.6 grams of alleged shabu with a Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P243,080.
Aside from two medium packs of shabu, a caliber .38 revolver was also seized from Osmeña.
The suspects will face charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (KAL)
