1993 Kings, 1994 Filmon score wins in Shaabaa

THE 1993 Kings Properties and 1994 Filmon revived their hopes of making the playoffs in Division B of the 22nd Sacred Heart-Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (Shaabaa) Basketball tournament at the old SHS-AdC Campus gym last Wednesday.

Batch 1993 defeated the 1995 Savers Depot 54-45 to improve to a 3-wins-6-losses standing. Batch 1994 beat the tail-ending Chick@Phil 52-49 for its second win in eight games.

John Sulay and Charleson Sia dropped a double-double performance of 18 points and 10 rebounds and 14 points and 12 rebounds, respectively, with Jess King contributing nine points and 11 rebounds for Kings Properties. Ian Ong fired the game high 21 points as Savers Depot dropped to 5-4.

Charles Gothong led Filmon to victory with his game high 17 points, while Jun Divinagracia and Samuel Uy scored 16 and 15 points for Chick@Phil’s eighth straight defeat.

In the other games, 1990-1991 Kogi-Q grabbed the solo lead following a 69-48 win over the 1992 Silver Anniversary to improve to 8-0 in the team standings. The 2000 Core Pacific whipped the 1999 Autolab 58-36 for its sixth win in seven games also in Division B action.

Meanwhile, the 2015 Peoples General improved to 6-1 after handing the 2011 Bling Nation an 81-49 bashing. The 2013 Hykos improved to 4-4 after beating the 2014 Bling Nation, 42-40. (RCM)
