THREE persons were arrested for illegally fishing in the seawaters off Bantayan, Cebu last Saturday afternoon.
Police caught Roque Tidoso, 58, Edgar Ofianga, 50, and Ramil Palma, 47 on board a commercial fishing vessel with fishing paraphernalia, accessories and gadgets worth at least P1 million.
Police also seized 16 tubs of assorted fish worth P16,000. The men used Danish seine, locally known as zipper, which is a violation of Republic Act 8550, or the Fisheries Code of the Philippines of 1998.
Police will file complaints against Tidoso, Ofianga and Palma. (JOB)
