Bacolod mayor reconstitute joint inspection team

BACOLOD City Mayor Evelio Leonardia formed a composite team to ensure that national business permits and licenses system standards are met

He issued Executive Order No. 10 further reconstituting the Joint Inspection Team (JIT) of the city. It was signed on April 16.

“There is a need to further reconstitute the JIT for the purpose of giving flexibility and this encouraging the efficiency of the team,” he said.

On December 5, 2016, Executive Order No. 32, Series of 2016 was issued rectifying the JIT.

Leonardia noted that Joint Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Department Administrative Order No. 10-07 provides the guidelines in implementing the nationwide upscaling of reforms in processing business permits and licenses in all local government units.

The mayor said the upscaling of the business permits and licensing systems in Bacolod will ensure responsiveness to the public and equalize access to frontline services and facilities significantly in securing business permits and licenses.

The JIT will be composed by the City Mayor as the chairman, city administrator as vice-chairman and its members the Permits and Licensing Division, Office of the Building Official, City Health Office, Bacolod Fire Department, Environment and Natural Resources and City Treasurer’s Office.

The JIT will conduct comprehensive mapping of all businesses of the city and documents all the procedures for effective data banking, monitor and implement adherence of businesses to regulatory requirements set by the city on business operation, recommend reform areas based on field observation and recommend issuance of new, renewal or non-renewal of business permit.
