A YOUNG woman died while her friend was injured after they were shot by unidentified men at Meciano road in Barangay Taclobo, Dumaguete City, on Saturday, September 16.
Killed was Meagan Noble, 21, while the injured was identified as April Bien, 30. Both are residents of Pasay City.
Investigation showed the victims were riding a pedicab around 10 a.m. when the assailants fired at them.
Both victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were brought to a hospital, where Noble was pronounced dead.
In another development, a man was stabbed by an unidentified robber inside his house at Barangay North Poblacion, Bacong, Negros Oriental early Saturday morning.
Wounded was Renee Randolf Villagonzalo, 30.
Police records showed the robber entered through a window by detaching the jalousies and escaped through the front door around 2:30 a.m.
Villagonzalo followed the robber at the gate and held him, but he was stabbed by the latter using a kitchen knife.
A village watchman and a councilor, who were conducting mobile patrol, caught the suspect, but still he was able to escape by climbing on the fence behind the house.
The robber left a pair of slippers, a backpack containing a cellular phone, a speaker, chargeable flashlight, and an iPad owned by Villagonzalo's sister.
