Works of top Negrense artists in 'My City, My SM, My Art'

TEN Negrense artists are featured in the SM City Bacolod leg of "My City, My SM, My Art" launched Saturday, September 16, at the mall's Main Atrium.

The event is a celebration of Philippine visual arts -- painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and filmmaking -- bringing art and people together by showcasing the works of masters, modernists, and millennials in a roadshow around the SM Supermalls.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia graced the event launch, which has the special participation of his daughter Kara in the audio-visual presentation.

In Bacolod, showcased are the works of master artists Nunelucio Alvarado, Dennis Ascalon, Charlie Co, Rodney Martinez, and Rafael Paderna along with modernists and millennials Faye Abantao, Moreen Austria, Daryl Feril, Manny Montelibano, and Susanito Sarnate.

The works of Arfien students of La Consolacion College-Bacolod are also featured.

"My City, My SM, My Art" is a joint project of SM, the Metropolitan Museum of Manila, Shell Philippines, the Philippine Star, with support from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and Centerstage Productions.

The team advocates art for all by working with communities to mount exhibits, workshops, and contests in key cities around the Philippines.
