Habal-habal driver's body found in Sibonga town

A MOTORCYCLE driver's body was found dead in the seashore of Barangay Bagacay, Sibonga, Cebu around 2:45 p.m., Monday, September 18 after drowning from Sunday's flashflood.

Sibonga Police Chief Stephen Amamag-id identified the fatality as Geovani Tortogo Estrada, 21, a motorcycle taxi driver or habal-habal driver.

Investigation showed the victim was with his cousin, 17-year-old Mark Angelo Tortogo Espino, in Sitio Casin-o, Barangay Lindogon in the said town, on Sunday, September 17, past 8 p.m.

They were onboard a motorbike and were travelling along the spillway when his motorcycle was hit by the flood's strong current.

He fell and was carried away by the flashflood while his cousin was able to move to higher ground.

Espino is now safe. (KAL)
